The focus of the behavior management is to reduce challenging behaviors and to increase appropriate communication skills. Through behavior management programming, we work to give kids, teens and adults with autism the power to communicate their wants and needs appropriately. We work on reduction of challenging behaviors by identifying what they are trying to communicate and how they can communicate their wants and needs. Challenging behaviors are learned via modeling, association, and observation. Behavior management programming gives correct positive supports and interventions and replacement behaviors and coping strategies are learned.
